Show Notes

See You In The AM is not just a catchy name for our podcast, it's a reminder that we're in this together, and we're here to help each other through the challenges of mental health.

We're Wynter Johnson and Allie Nickle, and we're the founders of Aspyn Market, a company that makes mental health resources accessible to those in need. We created Aspyn Coaching, an app that streams video sessions from coaches and therapists on different topics and guidance related to mental health.

Our podcast will feature coaches, therapists, and special guests who will provide tips on dealing with everyday struggles related to mental health. We want to create a safe space for people to discuss mental health issues and break the stigma surrounding them.

Wynter Johnson:

Welcome to see you in the AM podcast. This is our first podcast and we wanna start with introducing ourselves, Aspyn Market, Aspyn Coaching. I kind of give you an idea of what we're hoping to do with our podcast here and how we hope it can help you out.

Allie Nickle:

I'm Allie Nickle, co-founder of Aspyn Market, along with my business partner Wynter here. And we founded Aspyn Market a couple of years ago after we saw a huge need for new mental health resources during the pandemic, we had so many coworkers who were struggling with mental health issues, and they didn't know where to go, and we wanted to create something that would give them a resource, an outlet to go find some mental health guidance resources. Ideas that they may not have had access to otherwise and that's where we really created Aspyn Coaching an app where you can go stream videos from coaches and therapists on different topics related to mental health for whatever might be on your mind that day, that week. We have a whole bunch of things.

Wynter Johnson:

Okay, I'm Wynter founder of Aspyn Market and the Aspyn Coaching app, and together, Allie and I have spent the last year really working on meeting coaches who are really creating some really fascinating and amazing sessions for the app, anything on trauma, grief, team management, parenting, leadership boundaries, self-esteem. There's so many different topics, and one of the things I love about it is that, you and I are both moms. We're busy, we're working, we're entrepreneurs, we've got houses, kids, all kinds of stuff that we're doing. And there's so many times where maybe I'm struggling with a day and I'm not sure what I wanna do or where I wanna focus. And I can pull up the app and I can, decide, okay, what mood am I in or what topic do I wanna focus on? And I can watch a quick five to 10 minute sessions. Or sometimes I end up in a rabbit hole and I watch an hour or two of sessions. And I just really love what we're doing with the app. And I think our coaches are amazing. The sessions are amazing and I love what we wanna do here with the podcast, where we can really ask our coaches questions. We can ask our guest questions about, What's happening day to day? Today I'm struggling with this, what would you recommend or, get different tips that they really haven't shared in some of the sessions. And so I'm excited to start this podcast and really meet with our coaches on a regular basis and, meet with special guests and just really be able to help people and women who have really struggled like we have been through some of the same situations. And really just be honest, I think there's a lot of content out there that's still really curated, especially on, Instagram and TikTok. And I really wanna be honest and just help people with what they're struggling with every day and really get to know our coaches more and, know more about how they can help our members, our subscribers, and really just be able to help people more than what we're trying to do now.

Allie Nickle:

Absolutely. There's still such a stigma around mental health and we're really trying to open up that conversation about some of the things that people might not necessarily be comfortable with, or when you do see it out there on social media, there's an Instagram filter on it. It's not true. It's not authentic. It's not necessarily credible information. And that's one of the things we're really trying to do is Show what's behind the curtain there and really give real content and real help for people who are looking for it.

Wynter Johnson:

Well, and selfishly, I just really wanna be able to ask the coaches questions about, this happened yesterday. How would you deal with this? Or, I'm really struggling with this situation. How would you deal with this? And really just get their advice from their experience and share our experience. You and I are coming at this from such a business perspective and a, a perspective of being the, women and moms and I really am looking forward to being able to introduce these scenarios and get coaching perspectives and feedback from our therapists, our coaches, psychologists, whoever we're meeting with that day. I'm really looking forward to it.

Allie Nickle:

Absolutely. It's our own little mental health outlet as we're helping others.

Wynter Johnson:

Yeah, it is. I'm excited. Okay, so the name is, see you in the am. Why is that important to us and where did that come from?

Allie Nickle:

So this is a funny story. Wynter and I have been working together for about 10 years now. And we worked very closely in a startup environment. We worked for an EdTech company and it was hustle and grind atmosphere like none other. And one of the things we used to do at the end of the day is we'd used some of the last to leave in the office. And if. I left before Wynter or Wynter left before me. We would always leave sticky notes for each other on our desk saying, see you in the am. And it was just something where it was kind of a mental boost for us. It was a reminder that we're there to support each other, to help each other through, and also to know that it was more than work. We were really a team, a cohort, I can't even think of the right word. But it was something that just kind of started on a whim, literally on a sticky note one day. And that's at least from my side, that's where it started. What does See You In The AM mean to you Wynter?

Wynter Johnson:

I love it because literally like I'll see you in the morning. It is as simple as that and as basic as that, but also like am for Aspyn Market. And then we have turned it into see you in the AM where we have this great tool where we will send out emails every morning with recommended sessions on our app. So literally we will see you in the am. We as Aspyn Market Aspyn Coaching. Hope to see you every morning in a new session. Start your day off with just a quick five to 10 minutes, so it's turned into, I'll see you in Aspyn Market. I will see you in the morning. We will see you in the morning, and now this podcast where we'll see you in Aspyn Market, which I just absolutely love. I think there's so many meanings to it and I'm excited to continue to grow and see what that means. And, for us, Aspyn Market is, So much bigger. We get a lot of questions about why Aspyn Market, what is that? And we love the name Aspyn because nature and Aspyn trees are gorgeous, but they're known to create underground communities that support each other and help each other thrive and market because we hope to be a marketplace for all things mental health, whether it's our app, whether it's our, we have really fun shirts, notebooks, just fun inspiring things and there's so many things we wanna do to just really be a place where you can get all kinds of mental health resources. And so we love the idea of Aspyn Market. We have Aspyn Coaching, we really have a lot of things we wanna do with this. So we've had a lot of fun playing with, see you in the am, but also Aspyn Market as well.

Allie Nickle:

It all goes back to that sometimes all you need is a little sticky note reminder to know that you have support, you have a network, you have that underground foundation that's really supporting you in all things mental health.

Wynter Johnson:

I have so many sticky notes everywhere. I'm glad to hear you say that.

Allie Nickle:

Oh, I do too.

Wynter Johnson:

Yeah, I'm excited and, we're excited to start this new podcast See You In The AM really share what we're doing and, start to meet some really fun guests in the next couple weeks and months.
